Choosing a Washing Machine

When choosing your washing machine you'll want to consider several factors, but the most important could be energy and water usage. Choosing a machine that is energy and water efficient will save you money in the long run, since both power and water must be paid for. So compare the star ratings to see which machine is best.

The next thing to consider is whether you want a top-loading machine of a front-loader. Top-loaders take more water than front-loaders, but you can fit more clothes in, so if you have a family, this might be the better choice. Some people might find front-loaders difficult to work with, as the user must bend over to load and unload.

If you dont want an automatic washing machine, then you might be happy with a twin-tub. These hard-working machines save water because you can do as many loads as youve got with one tub-ful of water. While they save water and do a great wash, you will have to lift sopping wet - and therefore heavy - clothes from the washtub to the spin-dryer. This is not good if you have a bad back. Each machine has its good points and its downside. The one you choose will be the one that suits your particular needs.
